The 2018 RallyX Nordic is back and bigger than ever with a refreshed calendar, a quality driver line-up brimming with youth and experience, and a pioneering five-year plan to confirm the series as an excellent proving ground for the tomorrow’s rallycross superstars. Here is everything you need to know about this year’s series…
SUPERCARS
With eight of last year’s overall top ten returning to RallyX Nordic action this season, the 2018 series boasts impressive depth with its blend of up-and-coming talents and experienced front-runners. In the Supercar class, Thomas Bryntesson will defend his hard-earned title in the JC Raceteknik Ford Fiesta, but faces a renewed challenge from 17 year-old Oliver Solberg – son on two-time World RX Champion, Petter – in his Citroen DS3 and Peter Hedstrom in the Hedstroms Motorsport VW Polo. The pair will look to get the better of Bryntesson this year having finished hot on the heels of the Norwegian in 2017.
Other notable drivers to watch for include Olsbergs MSE’s Oliver Eriksson, who turns his attention to a full assault on RallyX Nordic after title-winning success in the RallyX on Ice winter series, while Philip Gehrman is tipped to impress in his Eklund Motorsport VW Beetle.
In all, 18 drivers will fight it out for RallyX Nordic honours this season, including returnees Christer Dalmans and Ola Froshaug in their respective Hedstroms VW Polo and JC Racteknik Ford Fiesta entries.

SUPERCAR LITES
In the hotly-contested Supercar Lites series, William Nilsson will similarly look to retain his Drivers’ crown, while compatriot Simon Olofsson is eager to exact revenge after narrowly missing out on the laurels in the 2017 Strängnäs finale.
Fellow Scandinavians Sondre Evjen – a consistent front-runner in the RX2 International Series and RallyX on Ice – Ben-Philip Gundersen, Simon Syversen and Glenn Haug are all likely to have their say, while two of last year’s standout rallycross rookies in the shape of Belgium’s Guillaume De Ridder and Latvia’s Vasiliy Gryazin are hotly-tipped to spring a surprise.

FORMAT
Reacting to competitor feedback, series organisers have implemented a raft of changes designed to evolve and enhance the overall package.
The new-look format will provide entrants with more track time than ever before, with three semi-finals when numbers allow to ensure as many competitors as possible enjoy their time in the spotlight and their opportunity to shine in front of the camera.
