Debutant Linnemann relishing chance to race Oliver Solberg

Ulrik Linnemann has expressed his delight at getting the chance to experience his local circuit at Nysum in a Supercar for the first time, while he is also looking forward to locking horns with Oliver Solberg.

The FIA European Rallycross front runner makes his RallyX Nordic debut this weekend in front of his home fans but while he has intimate knowledge of the Nysumbanen venue, he says he has never attempted it in a 600HP Supercar as yet.

“I thought this year when I went to Holjes for Euro RX that I know the track, but when I tried it in this car I didn’t! I had to change a lot of things. It is the same way to race but I think I am ready, it will be fun to compete against the others.”

Though Linnemann has competed against a handful of RallyX Nordic drivers at Euro RX level – including Thomas Bryntesson – the Dane admits he is particularly looking forward to the prospect of racing against current leader Solberg as his reputation continues to grow.

“It will be interesting to race against Oliver Solberg,” he admits. “He has a strong car and he is a brilliant talent so to race against him is a pleasure.”
