Ole Henry Steinsholt targets finals in RallyX on Ice bid

Ole Henry Steinsholt says he is targeting getting into the ‘final six’ when the 2019 RallyX on Ice presented by Cooper Tires series kicks off later this month in Åre, Sweden.

The Swede is no stranger to success on the ice having proven a front-runner alongside the likes of Kevin Hansen and Timmy Hansen during last year’s SRX on Ice, picking up victory in the final round in Gol.

For 2019, Steinsholt will take his place behind the wheel of a Supercar Lites machine to compete for overall glory in what will be only his second outing in the 310HP machine. Nonetheless, he is confident he can challenge to reach the final stages in each of the week-long event’s three rounds.

“I just love to drive on ice,” he said. I have only tried Supercar Lites once on ice before, so this gets pretty new to me,

“Of course it gives me some confidence, but these new tracks will be a big difference from SRX to Supercar Lites, so it gets very exciting

“My target is to learn as much as I can and to build up the speed and momentum ahead of the summer season, but I really hope to have a chance in the finals in Åre.”

The 2019 RallyX on Ice season will comprise three events held over six days on Lake Åre in Sweden. Each round will feature a different track layout – including a high-speed oval – with spectators encouraged to join the festival to enjoy high quality racing amongst the excellent local facilities on offer.
