Oliver Eriksson seals the deal in Denmark

The 2019 RallyX Nordic presented by Cooper Tires championship returned for round 3 at Nysum in Denmark and the racing was as unpredictable as ever. Many of the series’ big names ran into problems during the qualifying rounds which meant it was incredibly tight to make the cut for the final. The drivers also commented on the importance of the start at the figure-of-eight circuit and the challenging conditions due to the amount of dust being kicked up.

It was deja vu for the top two in Supercars as Oliver Eriksson and Robin Larsson took the top spots, just as they did in Höljes two weeks previously. Eriksson drove his Olsbergs MSE Honda Civic to a serene victory ahead of Larsson in the Audi S1. Jere Kalliokoski had another impressive showing to score a second podium from the first three races of his rookie RallyX Nordic campaign. Philip Gehrman just missed out on silverware in fourth followed by Peter Hedström and Andreas Carlsson, both of whom failed to finish.

Ben Philip Gundersen took to the top step of the podium for JC Raceteknik in the Supecar Lites class ahead of Linus Östlund and Jimmie Walfridson. The RX Academy was dominated by Rasmus Tuominen who won every race of the weekend including the all-important final, Tommi Hallman piled on the pressure chasing him all the way to the flag. Meanwhile, Isak Reiersen reigned supreme in the CrossCar category with Jimmie Österberg and Søren Jelsbak over 1.5 seconds behind.
