- 19-year-old thrilled with first Nordic podium
- Enlund keen to continue form at season finale
- Nysum double-header presents opportunity as others focus on title race
Martin Enlund secured a sensational maiden podium in RallyX Nordic Supercar Lites last time out at Arvika, Sweden. A third-place finish in an ultra-competitive field marks his first top-three appearance in just his fourth start in the category.
The Swede’s season didn’t get off to the best start with a luckless Höljes campaign yielding red-hot lap times, but little else, owing to contact with round one winner Simon Olofsson curtailing his efforts.
Enlund was determined to turn that around as RallyX Nordic touched down in Arvika and did just that. He was competitive from the outset and maintained pace throughout the weekend, eventually joining stablemate Jesse Kallio for a double-Olsbergs MSE podium.
Now the RallyX Nordic circus heads to Nysumbanen, the site of a CrossCar/Crosskart final appearance for Enlund last year. Experience at the fast and flowing Danish circuit could prove vital in an all or nothing double-header season finale.
“The podium in Arvika was special and really fun to achieve, to do it in my rookie season is a massive bonus for sure and I feel like that’s taken some of the pressure off.
“I enjoyed the track at Nysumbanen last year in CrossCar, we got to the final so I think we can be quick there this season. It’s a really fun circuit to drive and I’m looking forward to the challenge of adapting to the Supercar Lites car there.
“The other guys will be focussing more on the title so I’m going to go flat out and do my best, hopefully we will be able to reach the podium again.”
