While Lukas Andersson failed to claim the title in the Supercar Lites category, the JC Raceteknik team proved irresistible last weekend at the Estering in Buxtehude.
Indeed, in the first of the weekend’s two races, Joel Christoffersson’s drivers managed to claim no fewer than three victories in the five categories of the RallyX championship.
In the Supercar Pro-Am championship, the legendary Mats Öhman took his first win of the season to steal third place overall from Filip Martinsson.
Robin Larsson, meanwhile, proved that he has lost none of his superb driving touch by taking his fourth career RallyX victory on Saturday, while young Carl Svendlund secured his first win in the Junior CrossCar category.
The JC Raceteknik boss was delighted with the result, even if he regrets that Lukas Andersson lost the Supercar Lites title to two-time title-holder Simon Olofsson.
” Winning is always a goal, but the three successes we managed to achieve on Saturday were special”, Joel points out.
“It’s over a year since Robin raced a Supercar with us but he was stunning on Saturday and delivered a great result for himself and the team ahead of his Nitrocross season getting underway in Richmond, USA in a few weeks.”
“It’s not often everyone in the paddock is pleased for a single person to win, but that was the case with Mats and it is never not a special experience for us to work and achieve with him.”
Winner of Race 1 at Estering before taking third place on the podium the following day, young Carl Svedlund enjoyed an exceptional final part of the championship, taking four podiums in the last six races.
“Carl thoroughly deserved his first victory in the Junior CrossCar category on Saturday, before backing up his performance with another podium finish in Race 2. As for Lukas Andersson, the last two weekends have been complicated. We know that he’s very fast and very talented, but these last races of a championship mean that you need to have more experience and I’m sure that this end of season will help him to progress. He’s learned a lot again this year and that can only be positive for the future.”
