RallyX stars shine around the globe

Regardless of championship or continent, the best talent on the RallyX scene once again proved their dominance last weekend.

While Johan Kristoffersson continued his impressive lead in the World RX standings by winning the first of the weekend’s two races at the Portuguese track of Montalegre ahead of RallyX 2022 champion Niclas Grönholm, Kevin Hansen took victory in Race 2 to consolidate his second place in the overall championship standings.

In the Euro RX1 series, Yury Belevskiy took his first win of the season. A performance that allowed the Volland Racing driver to confirm his second place in the European Championship.

In the FIA RX2e, Nils Andersson took his third win in four races, beating Isak Sjökvist to claim his second consecutive title.

The drivers of the RallyX series also shone in the Norwegian CrossCar Championship, which was held at Aremark last weekend.

In the junior category, Olliver Sollie won ahead of Norwegian championship leader Dennis Vik, while Sebastian Isaksætre, Theo Johansen and Lauritz Heum were just off the podium.

In the senior category, Alexander Heum took his first win of the season ahead of Jens Hvaal.

On the other side of the Atlantic, the first two rounds of the Nitrocross championship at Richmond also saw a number of former RallyX stars show their talent.

In the Group E class, 2019 RallyX champion Robin Larsson took his eighth career win in Race 1 ahead of Oliver Eriksson and Fraser McConnell.

The following day, Oliver Eriksson took his first win of the season, beating Fraser McConnell and Viktor Vranckx to take the overall championship lead.

Finally, while FC2 cars have been the main attraction in this year’s RallyX championship since last May, 2021 Supercar Lites champion Tommi Hallman finished second in Race 1 before triumphing the following day ahead of Mitchell De Jong and Casper Jansson.
