Having just completed his third consecutive season in the RallyX championship, 19-year-old Swede Kalle Göthesson has openly stated that his medium-term future could lie behind the wheel of an FC2.
While he continues to progress through the senior CrossCar category at the wheel of his Speedcar Wonder chassis operated by the Huuhka Motorsport team, the Swede didn’t miss the opportunity to get to grips with the new FC2, whose debut in official competition revealed that it could compete with the best Supercars in the field without any problems.
“Testing the FC2 was a superb experience. Admittedly, the weather conditions weren’t ideal on that day, but that didn’t stop me from feeling all the power that this car has to offer. Even though my experience with four-wheel-drive cars was limited prior to this test session with the FC2, I really felt comfortable behind the wheel and my driving improved throughout the day. One thing’s for sure, this test session has given me a clear objective for the future.”
Indeed, while Kalle Göthesson will be using the 2025 season to take a further step in his development in the Senior CrossCar category, the 19-year-old Swede is making no secret of his future ambitions.
“For the time being, CrossCar remains the objective for the 2025 season because I know that I can still progress in this category, but it’s obvious that the next step for me will be FC2. What’s more, the RallyX championship is expanding into new markets and that can only give me confidence for the future.”
“The popularity of Rallycross has undoubtedly declined in recent years, but I think the RallyX series has the potential to reverse that trend. Unquestionably, I’m convinced that RallyX is the best way to follow for all drivers who aspire to a professional career.”
