French Rallycross ace Jimmy Terpereau keeps a close eye on RallyX South

Two-time French Rallycross Champion and former FIA European Championship competitor Jimmy Terpereau is clearly interested in the RallyX South League and its Open 2WD category.

In recent weeks, the RallyX series has confirmed its desire to invest in new markets, notably with the creation of a South League which will kick off on 29 and 30 March 2025 at Montalegre, and Jimmy Terpereau is one of the first names to have expressed his enthusiasm for this new challenge.

With 25 victories and 50 podium finishes to his name in his national championship, Jimmy Terpereau has established himself as a key figure in French rallycross over the years.

With two campaigns in the European Super1600 championship under his belt, the two-wheel drive specialist finished eighth overall in 2018, while also claiming his first career podium at this level of the sport at Barcelona.

The French driver is now looking forward to the possibility of entering RallyX.

‘I’m obviously very interested in the South League,’ explains Jimmy Terpereau.

‘I’ve been thinking about returning to international competition for some time and the RallyX championship is exactly what I’m looking for at the moment. The venues on the South Championship calendar obviously appeal to me, but I also have to admit that I’m currently looking for logistical solutions that would allow me to compete in other Open 2WD events in the North League as well’

Indeed, although Jimmy Terpereau acquired a Peugeot 208 Super1600 last winter, originally built by the Linnemann Motorsport team, the extremely liberal technical regulations of the Open 2WD category could encourage the French driver to opt for strong technical choices.

‘The fact that the technical regulations for the 2WD category are very flexible is exactly what I’m looking for. Since I started rallycross I’ve been used to competing with 2000cc and 1600cc engines. I won my first title in France with a two-litre engine, while my last title was won with a 1600cc engine. This gives me a lot of ideas for the future.’
