After an exceptional end to the RallyX season, with three podium finishes in the last four rounds, including a sensational victory on home soil at Nysum, Ulrik Linnemann is clearly looking forward to his next adventures in Rallycross.
After a long period of doubt following his spectacular crash at Estering in the summer of 2023, the VW Polo driver has certainly managed to regain his momentum for the 2024 season.
With a victory at Nysum 1, followed by two second places at Nysum 2 and Estering 2, Ulrik Linnemann’s record is more than satisfactory.
‘Above all, I’m very grateful to all those who continued to believe in me when I was in a dark and difficult position, with a lot of bills to pay and few results to show. I can only hope that everyone who has continued to follow me is happy with the results we’ve achieved this year,” says Ulrik Linnemann.
While the Danish driver continues to help develop young talent in the Danish championship through his Linnemann Promotion outfit, Ulrik was notably able to assist Mads Larsen in his debut at the wheel of a Supercar Lites during a test session in Sweden at the beginning of November.
‘It’s a really great story,” says Ulrik.
‘Mads and his twin sister (Emilie) are both big rallycross fans. They only have three years of motorsport experience, but Mads is now well known in the Danish motorsport community, having won the national title in rallycross and folkracing in the same season. These achievements also helped him to win the trophy for “Best Off-road Driver of the Year”.
Indeed, Mads Larsen became the youngest champion in the history of Danish Rallycross at the age of 16. In other words, there’s a good chance that the Danish delegation will go from strength to strength in 2025.
‘I was the one who urged him to take part in this test session because I see him as a star in the making. I really hope that Mads will be able to compete in the Supercar Lites category in 2025. Although it’s too early to talk about a full season, I’m pretty sure we’ll see him at least at Nysum and Estering.’
‘For the future, we’ll also have to keep an eye on his sister Emilie (3rd in the Danish CrossCar Championship in 2024 – editor’s note). Even if she’s still in her brother’s shadow, she’s an extremely talented driver who won’t take long to make a name for herself.’
For his part, Ulrik Linnemann doesn’t seem to be against the idea of returning to the RallyX championship.
‘I am very happy to see how RallyX is looking to the future with these new projects. It gives us hope for the development of this sport we all love,’ says Ulrik.
‘As far as I’m concerned, I should be competing in more RallyX events in 2025. In any case, I’m in a much better position than I was a year ago. On paper, I think I have a budget that can help me fight for the top places. To be honest, it’s been a long time since I’ve been in such a favourable situation. I’m also interested in the RallyX South League. However, everything will depend on our resources and our ability to add other events to our calendar.’
