At just 16 years old, young Madrid-born driver Diego Martinez Gonzalez has set his sights on making his mark in the 2025 season by confirming his commitment to the RallyX South Championship. Armed with a Speedcar Wonder chassis, he has the potential to emerge as one of the standout competitors in the CrossCar category.
As he prepares to embark on his tenth consecutive season in motorsport, the Spanish driver is poised to make a name for himself on the RallyX South stage. A two-time FIA European Vice-Champion in the Junior CrossCar category in 2023 and 2024, Diego will take his first steps in RallyX at the end of March on the Montalegre circuit.
“I’ve been watching RallyX championship live streams on YouTube since 2023, and I was quickly drawn to it by the level of the drivers and the spectacular battles that Rallycross offers. Having competed in the Spanish Rallycross Championship for the past two seasons, I see RallyX as a fantastic opportunity to make my debut in an international league in Southern Europe.”
Diego’s career began in karting, but he quickly established himself as a promising talent in off-road racing.
“I started motorsport in 2014 at the age of seven, driving go-karts near my home to gain experience and develop my skills. I then competed in several seasons of the Spanish Karting Championship and the Rotax Series, allowing me to race against more experienced drivers. In 2021, I moved into CrossCar, competing in the Spanish Autocross Championship for two seasons. Then, in 2023, I entered both the Spanish Rallycross Championship and the European Autocross Championship, where I finished as the Junior Vice-Champion in both disciplines. Last season, in 2024, I repeated those achievements—once again becoming European Vice-Champion, Spanish Rallycross Champion, and Vice-Champion at the FIA Motorsport Games. I’m proud of my career so far and ready to take on this new challenge.”

With such an impressive résumé, Diego is undoubtedly a rising star ready to make an impact in the RallyX Championship. A fierce competitor, the young Madrid native arrives with lofty ambitions.
“My main goal is to develop as much as possible with the car, adapt quickly to this new environment, work hard, and give my best in every race. Beyond performance, I also want to fully enjoy this experience, even though I’m confident I’ll be able to fight for top positions.”
While Rallycross has long been deeply rooted in Nordic countries, Spain is still in the early stages of developing its presence in the sport. Since 2024, the country has had its own national championship, but Diego remains hopeful that the discipline will gain greater recognition among his fellow Spaniards.
“Rallycross culture in Spain isn’t as developed as it is in the Nordic countries, but maybe over time, we’ll see more Spanish drivers competing in RallyX. That’s certainly my hope.”
A Relentless Approach to Preparation
As he awaits the start of the season in Montalegre, Diego is leaving nothing to chance.
“My greatest strength is my preparation before each race. I have a strong ability to analyze circuits quickly, which helps me adapt and perform well. I’m also a driver who never gives up—I always fight to the very end. I have complete trust in my team, Nebrija SpeedCar Factory Team, and I hope we can achieve all our goals this season.”
Without a doubt, the 2025 season presents Diego Martinez Gonzalez with the perfect opportunity to leave his mark on the RallyX South Championship.
