RallyX breaks new ground with inaugural KymiRing event this weekend

QBA_8041

For the first time in RallyX history, Finland’s KymiRing will play host to one of the series’ championship events this Saturday and Sunday. The Kausala-based circuit marks the fourth of seven RallyX events overall this year, as well as Rounds 3-4 of the RallyX North championship.

KymiRing marks the final new addition to the RallyX calendar for the 2025 season, joining new events at Montalegre in Portugal and Valkenswaard in the Netherlands earlier this spring. The new Finnish circuit measures out to 1.568 km (.974 miles), with a 135-meter Joker Lap and a nearly 50-50 split of tarmac and gravel.

With at least 10 entries in every class this weekend, KymiRing will bring rallycross’ biggest stars out for this weekend’s event. Open 4WD continues to headline the festivities as the traditional Supercars run by top drivers like Viktor Vranckx, Maiko Tamm, and defending champion Joni Turpeinen continue to do battle with the First Corner FC2s of Oliver Eriksson, Fraser McConnell, Casper Jansson, and Tommi Hallman, among others.

Elsewhere on the entry list, Roberts Vitols looks to keep up the momentum in SuperCar Lites after sweeping last month’s event in Bikernieki, defending champion Simon Tiger and Viktor Johansson renew their fight in Open 2WD, and three dozen competitors across the two CrossCar categories will fill out a robust field. Adding intrigue to the proceedings will be dual entries for Open 2WD Pro driver Mikko Ikonen and CrossCar driver Pasi Penttinen, both of whom will also compete in Open 4WD Pro Am.

While KymiRing marks only the second event of the RallyX North championship, joining Latvia, it’s the fourth RallyX event of the year overall. All of the RallyX feature winners so far in 2025 are as follows:
