While Espen Isaksætre is clearly building momentum—his Q1 victory a timely reminder of why the former FIA European vice-champion belongs among the RallyX favorites—it’s Romet Tsirna who continues to turn heads. Just two weeks after his breakthrough victory at KymiRing, the Estonian driver has proven it was anything but a fluke.

Indeed, after only a single final appearance in the first six rounds of the 2025 season, the PACE Motorsport driver has looked like a different man ever since his triumph in Finland.

Having topped qualifying before sweeping every session in the finals, Tsirna made a bold statement in KymiRing. A message he backed up once more on Saturday morning by clocking the fastest time in Q2, climbing seven spots in the intermediate standings and closing to within just two points of current event leader Thomas Eek Murstad.

“That win in Finland was clearly a turning point. Confidence is really high right now, even though every race is a fresh start. Nothing’s ever guaranteed, but yes, what I achieved recently was a real psychological breakthrough.”

It was a textbook victory—clean, complete, and undisputed.

“I couldn’t have imagined a better weekend: I dominated free practice, qualifying, the semifinals with the fastest lap of the weekend, and then posted the quickest time in the final as well. I earned that win, and I’m really proud of it.”

According to Tsirna, the seeds of this momentum were planted weeks earlier at Bikernieki, where something just clicked despite challenging circumstances.

“I knew there was something missing. And when I found it, everything changed. Already at Bikernieki, I could feel the car was starting to come back. On Saturday, I had a back issue, but on Sunday, I made the final and felt I had really gotten everything out of the car.”

The confirmation came soon after, in Finland.

“As soon as I arrived at KymiRing, I could feel it was a different car. You all saw the difference. It’s finally working the way I’ve always wanted.”

Despite this sharp uptick in form, the Estonian is staying clear of any championship math. Currently sitting fourth in the RallyX North standings, Tsirna trails his PACE teammate Martin Juga by just 16 points.

“This year, I’m trying not to think too much about the championship. Last season, ahead of Nysum, I was obsessing over the points, the standings, the idea of finishing top three… and I think it cost me some focus.”

“Now I just want to enjoy each race, give it everything, and savor the wins. That’s what really matters. We’ll see where it all lands at the end of the season.”

For Tsirna, the true beginning of his 2025 campaign took place in May in Latvia.

“The real turning point came in Bikernieki. After that race, I knew everything was possible again because I finally had a competitive car.”

He proved that potential in spectacular fashion at KymiRing, and he’s determined to carry that momentum into this latest round in Sweden.

“The points I scored in Finland have definitely reignited the season. It’s just a pity there was only one race at KymiRing. Two rounds would’ve really helped me fight back in the championship. So here, we have to push as hard as we can.”

And if Q2 is any indication—where he once again posted the fastest time—Tsirna’s push is already well underway.
