Following the cancellation of one of the two scheduled races at the KymiRing weekend this past June, the RallyX promoter and the organizers in Buxtehude have decided to shake up their original plans.
Initially set to host a single RallyX round on August 9–10, the Buxtehude venue will now stage a double-header to bring the 2025 season to a close, following a collaborative agreement between RX Promotion AB and the Estering organizing committee.
“We were able to act swiftly at KymiRing, realizing by the end of the first free practice session that the event couldn’t go ahead as planned. That’s why we deliberately decided to run only one of the two scheduled races,” explained Andreas Eriksson.
“The goal was to preserve the condition of the circuit’s gravel sections as much as possible, and I want to thank everyone who worked behind the scenes to make sure the KymiRing weekend was still a success.”
Maintaining the integrity of the championship calendar was also a key concern for RallyX leadership.
“We were committed to keeping our 13-round schedule intact, which is why, after consulting with the Buxtehude organizers, we decided to add an extra race in Germany. It was the best way to ensure fairness across the board for all our drivers and teams.”
Above all, Eriksson expressed his satisfaction with the strength of RallyX’s local partnerships.
“We always work hand-in-hand with the organizers on our calendar. Honest and open discussions are what allow us to be responsive and flexible as we adapt to ongoing challenges. We’re proud to have reached this agreement with the Automobile Club Niederelbe, which ensures our competitors get the championship format we announced back at the end of 2024.”
That same enthusiasm was echoed by Estering leadership, as confirmed by Marcus Brassat, President of the Automobile Club Niederelbe:
“RallyX’s return to Buxtehude in 2024 was a clear public success. Strengthening that partnership and hosting two races this season felt like a natural next step. It means double the action for the fans, and for our club, it’s a true recognition of the work we’ve put in.”
