For the third consecutive year, the Estering circuit will host the final round of the RallyX North and RallyX South series on August 8–9. A continuation that keeps the German venue firmly in the spotlight while further strengthening its rich legacy on the European rallycross stage.
Built in 1973, Estering has established itself over the decades as one of the most iconic circuits in international rallycross. Renowned for its spectacular opening corner—an unmistakable signature of the venue—and its highly technical gravel sections, the Buxtehude track remains a benchmark when it comes to delivering a challenge that is both demanding for drivers and thrilling for spectators.
The integration of RallyX into the Estering calendar marked a new chapter in the circuit’s recent history.
“Buxtehude has a rich heritage in European rallycross. The arrival of RallyX represented an entirely new experience for us at the first edition held in August 2024, especially as we were also honoured to host the championship finale. The diversity of the classes involved, as well as the sheer size of the entry list, was particularly impressive,” explains Marcus Brassat.
Beyond the sporting aspect, the success of the event has also been built on a well-oiled organisation and close cooperation between all stakeholders.
“Strong and constructive cooperation upstream is essential to the success of an event. The pragmatic and well-considered approach adopted by the promoters and organisers made things much easier. It is this positive dynamic that naturally led us to continue the adventure.”
Drawing on the lessons learned from previous editions, the organisers are keen to build on this momentum while introducing targeted improvements.
“So far, we have fully met the RallyX specifications and the spirit we wanted to give the event. The goal now is to capitalise on this foundation. Among the improvements being considered, we are notably working on introducing a shuttle bus service from the railway station to make access to the site easier.”
From a public perspective, RallyX has clearly found its audience in Buxtehude, confirming the enduring appeal of rallycross in the region.
“Of course, a European Championship carries a different status, but RallyX has also been able to attract fans. At the first edition, we proceeded cautiously, unsure of how the event would be received. By the second year, we had already seen a clear increase in spectator numbers. Feedback from our sponsors and local authorities has been very encouraging. Hotels and guesthouses in Buxtehude and the surrounding area were fully booked, and far more European languages than usual could be heard in the city centre.”
An enthusiasm the organisers hope will continue to grow in 2026.
“We are now counting on word-of-mouth from spectators who have already attended this type of event to help the Rallycross keep growing. For the 2026 edition, we are hoping for full grids, perhaps with one or two star drivers. Whatever happens, the Estering and all its teams will, as always, do everything possible to provide a welcome worthy of the event.”
With its heritage, unique layout and now well-established organisation, the Estering once again confirms its status as a stronghold of European rallycross, ready to write new chapters in its history at the next RallyX event.
