For the second consecutive season, Oliver Eriksson will contest a full RallyX campaign at the wheel of an FC2 car in 2026. And by all accounts, the Swedish driver from Team OMSE is set to return to competition with top-level ambitions.

After claiming two podium finishes last season in the Open 4WD category, Eriksson also made his mark in FC2, securing third place overall thanks to five podium appearances, including a victory at the Alvsbyn circuit.

Building on a first campaign rich in lessons, the Scandinavian driver now approaches the new season with a sharper perspective and a more structured approach.

“This will be my second season in FC2, but in many ways it almost feels like a first real year,” Eriksson admits. “Last season, the car was making its true competitive debut, and we were still very much in a learning phase. This year, we’re starting with a much better understanding of the package and its potential.”

Last season also saw Eriksson and Fraser McConnell join forces to assess how the FC2 stacked up against the established Supercar benchmark.

“Last year, we didn’t really know where we stood compared to the Supercars,” he explains. “Together with Fraser McConnell, we decided to work closely and focus entirely on that objective. That was our priority, and it didn’t take long for drivers like Casper Jansson and Tommi Hallman to show just how competitive the FC2 could be.”

Convinced of the category’s potential, Eriksson has been encouraged by the steady growth of the FC2 field and its increasing appeal.

“A one-make FC2 championship would be fantastic, he says. “The grid keeps getting stronger, with more cars and more drivers. It’s very positive to see the series growing and evolving. With its controlled costs, performance level, and the quality of racing, FC2 clearly represents the future of European rallycross.”

In a championship where margins are notoriously tight, Eriksson is bracing himself for an especially open season.

“I think it’s going to be a very unpredictable year,” he continues. “There will be ups and downs for everyone, myself included. You never know in advance who will be quickest at each circuit, and that’s what makes the championship so exciting. Uncertainty is part of rallycross’ DNA. I also think the season will start very strongly from the opening round. The cars are competitive, the drivers are ready, and we’re all looking forward to getting this new season underway.”

Driven by clearly defined ambitions, Oliver Eriksson is not hiding behind intermediate goals.

“My objective is simple: to win races. And when you win races, titles tend to follow. The confidence is there now. All that’s left is to go out and fight for the victories.”
