After a first learning campaign in the Supercar Lites category in 2025, Mads Larsen is set to return to action in the RallyX championship.

Regarded as one of the most promising talents on the Danish scene, the Linnemann Promotion driver has confirmed his return to Supercar Lites for a full-season program.

Seventh overall in 2025, Larsen notably made his mark by securing three final appearances across the last four rounds of the season.

It was a steady rise that perfectly summed up the young Dane’s learning year. Thrown into a technical and competitive environment vastly different from his previous experience, Larsen had to quickly adapt to the demands of a discipline where precision and adaptability are key.

“My first season was above all a year of learning,” Mads explains. “I had to discover the car, but also adapt to many circuits I didn’t know. Up to that point, I had only raced front-wheel-drive cars, so switching to a four-wheel-drive car was a real challenge.”

Rather than focusing on immediate results, the Linnemann Promotion driver adopted a methodical approach, centered on development and understanding his new machinery.

“Over the course of the races, I felt myself improving. I wasn’t focused on results during that first year because I knew it was an important step in my journey. I started from scratch and built up progressively, learning every time I went out on track. Today, I feel much better prepared for the season ahead. As the season went on, I became more and more comfortable with the car. I learned how to understand it better, how to drive it, and how to react in different situations.”

That progress became clear towards the end of the season, with significantly improved results and more consistent appearances in the Supercar Lites top six.

“There was a real evolution between the first race and the final rounds of the championship. The results came gradually, step by step. I won the Danish championship over the past two years in a front-wheel-drive car producing between 130 and 200 horsepower. Moving to a 320-horsepower four-wheel-drive car was a radical change. They are two completely different approaches when it comes to going fast in racing.”

Fully aware of the areas he needed to improve, Larsen used the off-season to deepen his knowledge, down to the smallest mechanical details of his car.

“I completely stripped the car down myself. Every component was checked, and some parts were replaced. It allowed me to fully understand how the car works and how each element interacts. It’s now ready for the new season.”

In the same spirit, the Dane also carried out an in-depth review of his past performances.

“I also took the time to watch the 2025 races several times. It helped me identify my mistakes and clearly define the areas I need to improve.”

Beyond the technical aspect, Larsen can also rely on the expertise of reigning RallyX champion Ulrik Linnemann.

“Ulrik was racing himself last year, so he wasn’t my spotter. However, his team was there to support me whenever needed, especially when it came to working on the car. The management of the car was mainly down to me and my family, but of course, I knew I could rely on Ulrik whenever I needed advice on specific aspects.”

For 2026, a further step will be taken with a greater level of involvement from his mentor.

“This season will be different: Ulrik will be at the races solely to support me. My family and I are still relatively new to motorsport, so we rely heavily on him, both as a coach and as an advisor. We analyze videos, races, racing lines, as well as the specific challenges of each circuit. We also spend time in his workshop in Denmark, where he explains in detail how a race car is designed and how it works.”

A strong relationship built on trust, which is essential in a demanding championship like RallyX.

“Ulrik is like a brother to me, someone I trust completely. I can ask him anything. He knows me perfectly and understands when to step in, but also when to let me take a step back.”

As he awaits the start of the RallyX season, Larsen is determined to put all the pieces in place.

“We will soon begin testing in Denmark, both with the car entered in the national rallycross championship and with the Supercar Lites. We are going to install a second seat in the car so Ulrik can drive with me, but also to switch roles and allow me to learn directly alongside him.”

With this preparation and the experience gained, Larsen is now setting more ambitious targets.

“My goal is clearly to take a step forward compared to last year. I feel much more comfortable with the car now. I’m also looking forward to returning to circuits I already know. Having Ulrik by my side, fully focused on my program, will be a real advantage, with the aim of securing as many final qualifications as possible.”
