Adam Öhman Breaks Through at Tierp

After back-to-back podium finishes at Valkenswaard, Adam Öhman finally converted his growing momentum into victory by claiming his maiden Pro Am win during Race 1 at Tierp.

Benefiting from the first-corner chaos involving Sivesind, Naessen and Kristensson, the Swedish driver kept his composure when it mattered most to emerge on top in difficult conditions.

A result that even Öhman himself admitted he had not truly expected after a day largely marked by struggles in dry conditions.

“Honestly, this victory is still quite unexpected. Of course I’m very happy, but overall we were still lacking pace whenever the track was dry this weekend. We improved throughout the heats, but it probably still wasn’t enough.”

In conditions made particularly treacherous by the rain, Öhman nevertheless managed to seize his opportunity perfectly during a chaotic final.

“Obviously I’m taking a huge amount of pleasure from this victory because I think our final was really strong.”

Aware that fortune had also played a role during the opening metres of the race, the Swede made no attempt to downplay the luck that came his way.

“It’s true that I also benefited a little from the incidents involving several cars ahead of me at the first corner.”

After producing an excellent launch from the second row of the grid, Öhman believes his starting position ultimately worked in his favour.

“My launch from the second row was also very good. We had barely started from that area of the grid all weekend and there was less rubber laid down there, so the grip off the line was actually better.”

A situation that also allowed the Swedish driver to gradually rebuild his confidence after more difficult qualifying sessions.

“In terms of confidence, this victory obviously feels really good after some complicated qualifying heats.”

Öhman also believes the wet conditions encouraged him to adopt a more measured approach behind the wheel.

“In the end, this race in the rain also helped me calm my driving down a little in certain sections where I had been pushing too hard and moving away from the ideal racing lines.”

Enough to allow the Swede to approach the remainder of the weekend with greater composure.

“I think it will be possible to exploit the track even more on Sunday if I can simply apply what we identified during Race 1 correctly.”
