Hansen Motorsport announced today that Timmy Hansen will compete in the inaugural RallyX Americas season, which kicks off on June 20-21 at Crandon International Raceway. Hansen will compete in the premier Hypercar division in the First Corner FC1.
“I am incredibly excited to be joining the Rally X America Championship and happy to continue racing in Team Hansen in top-level rallycross,” Hansen said in the team release. “We will be competing in the FC1 Hypercar—a car I have experienced firsthand in Las Vegas two years ago – and it is very fast! The series is visiting some truly iconic venues, starting with the legendary Crandon International Raceway in Wisconsin, and with such a strong, competitive field of drivers, I absolutely cannot wait to get this new adventure underway.”
“We are more than happy to join RallyX Americas for 2026 and beyond,” added Hansen Motorsport team principal Kenneth Hansen. “It is a big milestone for the sport of rallycross. The teams, Set Promotion, JC Raceteknik, OMSE and Hansen together with the RallyX Management have worked together with the goal to make the sport as great as it deserves to be with a healthy and sustainable structure that we all believe in.
“The style of tracks Rally X Americas offers are a bit different from what we normally see in Europe with more gravel and demanding corners, jumps and velodromes that will guarantee the best possible rallycross show. Cars sliding side by side, overtakings and a lot of airtime. I can’t wait to see it!”
Timmy Hansen has one of the most decorated records of any active rallycross driver, including 14 world championship wins and a title in 2019. He made his return to RallyX at RallyXtreme Weekend in Tierp earlier this spring in an FC2 Supercar, appearing in both finals and posting the fastest time in three of the weekend’s six qualifying heats. Alongside his return to rallycross, Hansen races powerboats for E1 Team Miami in the E1 electric powerboat championship, and serves as team principal of Hansen Motorsport’s Extreme H efforts.
Hansen Motorsport has been a mainstay in the sport of rallycross for more than 35 years. Under the leadership of Kenneth and Susann Hansen, the team has taken numerous drivers’ and teams’ championships at both the world and European levels. Hansen Motorsport has also made a significant impact in the sport in the US, winning X Games Los Angeles in 2012 with Sebastien Loeb in his debut in the sport, and taking the first two Nitro World Games gold medals.
