After finishing 10th in the RallyX North standings last season, with one podium and two final appearances to her name, Minea Perämäki has continued her upward trajectory in 2026. The young Finn has emerged as one of the standout performers of the opening stages of the campaign, thanks to a level of consistency matched by very few drivers in the field.

Currently seventh in the championship standings heading into the Älvsbyn round, Perämäki has reached the final in each of the first four events of the season. Only Iivari Männistö and Jere Huuhka have managed to match that achievement so far.

Beyond the statistics, it is her ability to make the most of every opportunity that has been particularly impressive. At the opening round in Tierp, Perämäki qualified 12th and last for the semi-finals, yet still found a way to secure a place in the final. It was a scenario she would repeat just one week later at Honkajoki.

After once again finishing 12th in the qualifying rankings on the opening day in Finland, she fought her way through to another final appearance. The following day, a 10th-place classification after the qualifying heats proved enough to book her place in the decisive race once again.

“I’m obviously pleased with the way the season has started. We’ve managed to reach the final in each of the first four races, and that confirms the progress we’ve made over the last few months.”

For the Finnish driver, those results are the product of a long-term commitment to improvement.

“I’ve worked hard and gained experience by competing in different events. Every race has helped me learn and develop. All of that work is starting to pay off now.”

While her performances have allowed her to compete more regularly with the category’s established frontrunners, Perämäki has no intention of changing her approach.

“The goal is to continue on this path and stay in touch with the top drivers in the championship. We know the level of competition is extremely high, but we want to keep progressing.”

The upcoming round at Älvsbyn could provide another valuable benchmark for a driver who particularly enjoys the characteristics of the Swedish circuit, where she claimed the first podium finish of her career last season.

“It’s a circuit I really like. It’s fast, but it also features a variety of corners, which makes it both interesting and enjoyable to drive.”

Despite her clear progress, the young Finn believes there is still significant room for improvement.

“I think I can still improve in every area. Every race weekend gives me more experience, and there are still many things I can do better.”

That assessment perfectly reflects the mindset she has maintained since the start of the season. While some drivers set their sights on podiums or championship positions, Perämäki remains committed to an approach built around consistency.

“My goal is to stay consistent throughout the season and qualify for every final. If we can maintain that consistency, we can continue fighting at the front.”
