Stretching 1,050 meters and featuring a surface mix of 60% asphalt and 40% dirt, the Montalegre circuit has established itself as one of the most thrilling tracks in Europe.
While the nearby Lousada circuit long served as the stage for European competitions, Montalegre took over between 2007 and 2013. It then made history as the first venue to host a round of the FIA World Rallycross Championship. Since then, the World RX series has raced at Montalegre on nine occasions.
Renowned for its imposing curbs, which demand skillful navigation to achieve top speeds, the circuit also boasts dirt sections that foster intense battles. Overtaking here is often done in full drift, with drivers door-to-door in spectacular clashes.
