Already the winner of three out of the first four RallyX rounds, Carl Svedlund made the most of the opening day of competition in Riga by adding a fourth victory to his growing list of achievements.
Second in the intermediate standings behind Peetu Matalamäki, the JC Raceteknik driver ultimately didn’t even need to face off with his Finnish rival. Eliminated in the semifinals following a collision, Matalamäki inadvertently cleared the path for Svedlund, who seized the opportunity and claimed victory in the final ahead of Iivari Manisto and Peetu Piira.
“Honestly, I didn’t expect to win this many races so early in the season,” admitted Carl Svedlund.
“Taking four wins from five starts wasn’t something I had imagined. I have to say—it’s incredibly satisfying.”
Indeed, beyond his consistency, the Swedish driver has shown steady progress, feeding into a growing momentum.

“Each win gives me a bit more confidence. It’s a real boost.”
While the final played in his favor, the day wasn’t without its setbacks.
“I managed things pretty well with strong runs in Q1 and Q2, but I made a mistake in Q3 that dropped me to seventh.”
Even so, Svedlund adapted quickly to the unique demands of the Latvian circuit.
“It’s a really technical track with tons of corners. It’s fun, but very tough. Some sections offer a lot of grip, others much less, which really makes things tricky. Fortunately, I can rely on the expertise of JC Raceteknik, who have a lot of experience here.”
That strong support system only reinforces Svedlund’s growing ambition.
“Yes, I’m having a lot of fun here. The goal, obviously, is to keep winning—but I’m not going to take unnecessary risks either. I’ve got a championship to think about.”
