As the RallyX Championship prepares to continue its season in Finland with the highly anticipated Kymiring round from June 13 to 15, local star Tommi Hallman naturally couldn’t pass up the opportunity to compete on home soil.
A prominent figure on the international rallycross scene, Hallman will be back behind the wheel of the SET/Loenbro FC2 — the car with which he has already secured two podium finishes since the start of the 2025 season.
With two victories and a total of three podiums to his name this year, the Finnish driver heads into his first home appearance of the season as the undisputed favorite for victory.
“I’ve always wanted to race in front of Finnish fans. So far, my rallycross career has mostly taken place abroad. In 2021, I raced in Oulu in the RallyX Lites category, but because of COVID, the grandstands were closed. This time, I’ll finally get to compete in the premier class. For several years now, many people have asked when I would race in Finland. It’s a fantastic feeling to see it finally happen,” Hallman said with excitement.

Beyond its sporting significance, the Kymiring event holds special historical importance for motorsport in Finland, marking the circuit’s first-ever international competition.
“It’s a great honor to be part of such an event. I believe it will attract a large crowd. This is a major milestone for Finnish motorsport. People have been talking about Kymiring for years, but until now, it hadn’t hosted an international competition. That moment has finally arrived. At the same time, this will also be the debut for the brand-new rallycross layout,” Hallman explained.
The Finnish round also offers Hallman a rare opportunity to bring his partners and inner circle closer to the world of rallycross competition.
“The goal is to welcome as many guests and partners as possible, which is obviously much easier than when I’ve been racing in North America, where I’ve mainly focused my efforts in recent seasons. Many of my partners have never seen a rallycross race live, nor had the chance to watch me compete in person. So this is a unique opportunity for them as well,” emphasized the Kuopio-born driver.
