With just days to go before wrapping up his first RallyX season, Frederik Märtin has opted for a completely new experience. The young Estonian driver has swapped his usual Speedcar Wonder for a TN11 developed by LifeLive, running under the Pace Motorsport banner. A surprising move, but one that makes sense.
“Above all, it was simply easier for me to come with them rather than make the entire trip on my own. My father [Markko Märtin] didn’t want to spend three days on the road moving our setup from Estonia, so joining Pace Motorsport quickly became the most sensible option.”
While the change was driven primarily by practical considerations, Frederik admits it’s also an opportunity he wanted to seize.
“Yes, it was mostly a logistical decision, but also a chance to try something different. The idea was to discover new sensations and gain more experience. Who knows, maybe it will give me some ideas for next season if it works well. For now, I just don’t know.”
Before heading to Denmark, Märtin had the chance to complete a test session to get acquainted with the TN11.
“From the very first laps, it felt quite natural. I was surprised to be setting good lap times straight away. Honestly, I didn’t think this chassis would be so easy to handle. As for my usual Speedcar Wonder, it’s hard to make a proper comparison since the test track was entirely asphalt. All I can say is that the feeling was good.”
One thing is certain: this weekend at Nysum could tempt the Estonian driver to extend the experience at Estering the following week.
“I haven’t made my decision yet. But if I race, it will definitely be with Pace Motorsport. I know Estering is an incredible track, so I’ll try to be there. I’ll see how things go this weekend before deciding. Whatever happens, this round at Nysum will be a great experience. I’m lucky to have Romet Tsirna and Martin Juga around me, along with a team that lets me focus solely on driving—and that’s a very pleasant situation.”
