While rising Danish talent Mads Larsen prepares to make his Supercar Lites debut with Linnemann Promotion at the upcoming Valkenswaard event, Sigurd Stubberup Frederiksen will continue his development in the Junior CrossCar category.

Ulrik Linnemann clearly has unwavering confidence in his young protégé. A product of karting, Stubberup made a name for himself last season by winning the Danish Junior CrossCar Championship before turning his attention to the RallyX series.

Although the 13-year-old didn’t make it to the final at Montalegre, he scored two top-5 finishes in qualifying and set the fastest lap in one of the races, proving that he is a talent to watch in the 2025 season.

Already in the top 5 in terms of pure speed and average speed, Stubberup was only three tenths of a second per lap behind the fastest competitors in the junior category on average.

That’s more than enough to reassure Ulrik Linnemann, who is convinced that he has found a future star capable of climbing the ranks of rallycross.

“Going into the season opener, Sigurd’s only familiarity with Montalegre was from video games,” says Linnemann with a smile. “He got quite a wake-up call during free practice, because in the game you take the corner at full throttle – but real life caught up with him quickly.”

“This is the reality for so many young drivers who use simulators to train. Most of the time it’s a great tool, but it can also bring a few surprises. Things get tricky when the real track doesn’t match the virtual reference points they’ve gotten used to.”

Although Stubberup adapted quickly in Portugal, the upcoming round at Valkenswaard could mark another step forward in his development.

“I’m convinced he’s going to be very fast this year,” Linnemann reiterated.

“Let’s not forget that he is still new to rallycross. Sigurd spent many years in karting in Denmark, but he quickly realized that CrossCar was a better fit for him. He’s adapting well and we’re lucky to have him in the team. He has the potential to be a future rallycross star, and I think he’ll start proving that this year. His father is also heavily involved in his development – he has already gone through the CrossCar regulations with a fine-toothed comb. They know exactly what’s allowed and what’s not, so they’re fully equipped to maximize performance.”
