After finishing only 26th in last year’s RallyX championship, Vetle Try is showing an entirely different level of performance since the start of the 2025 season—a rise in form that owes nothing to chance.
Granted, a sixth-place finish in Race 2 at Nysum in 2024 had already hinted at the young Norwegian’s potential in the CrossCar category. But since the season opener in Montalegre, there’s no denying it: Vetle Try is no longer playing in the same league.
In just four rounds this year, he’s already secured two final appearances and racked up six Top 5 finishes in qualifying heats out of 12 runs since late March. On top of that, he currently ranks as the fourth-fastest driver in terms of pure pace.
Encouraging signs for the latest addition to the JC Raceteknik line-up.
“It’s been a really strong start to the season so far. We’ve been consistent, and I think we’re only missing a few details to finally fight for a podium” says Vetle, clearly pleased with his decision to join the team expertly led by Joel Christoffersson.

“We joined JC this year mainly to benefit from a more advanced level of expertise in building our weekends, and also to better manage joker lap strategy. Beyond that, we now have real technical support to help tailor the car to my driving style—and so far, I have to say the results have been more than positive.”
Working with JC Raceteknik has led to a complete reset in his approach.
“We’ve reworked almost everything—from the engine to my driving style. The goal was to make the car easier to exploit, and no detail has been left to chance.”
Now mentored by former WRC contender Fredrik Åhlin, Vetle Try seems poised to confirm his rise on the RallyX stage.
“My confidence is really starting to take shape, and I can honestly say it’s very high at the moment. Of course, I dream of winning my first RallyX race, but just landing a podium would already be a huge milestone for us. Right now, my only focus is to keep building on the momentum we’ve found since Montalegre.”
