As the second stage of RallyX gets underway at the Tierp Arena, Johan Kristoffersson explains why he enjoys the intense battles of the RallyX series so much.
With five world titles to his name, Johan Kristoffersson could do without the Scandinavian championship. Already involved in Extreme E and currently preparing for the FIA World Rallycross Championship, no one would really blame the Swede for not taking part in RallyX.
However, apart from the fact that the Scandinavian championship is an excellent way to get back into shape, there are other arguments to explain Johan Kristoffersson’s addiction to RallyX.
“I’ve always loved competing in this championship,” says Johan.
“The philosophy you can use on RallyX is a little bit different from the one you usually have to apply in World RX where you have to play it safe on every level. Of course, my motivation to perform is as strong in World RX as it can be in RallyX, but the biggest difference is that RallyX allows us to take a lot more risks both on and off the track,” continued the Swede.
“In fact, we have a lot more room to maneuver in RallyX. We can work around the setup of the car and at the same time have fun trying a lot more things technically to see if the changes we make will make us more efficient on the track or not. That’s one of the reasons why I’m having so much fun in this championship”
