Team Heum Motorsport doubles up

After beating the odds in 2023 by finishing fifth overall in the CrossCar category alongside Alexander Heum, Team Heum Motorsport will double its efforts in 2024 with the addition of Lauritz Heum in the Junior CrossCar Championship.

After seven seasons in his national championship, the young Norwegian will use the coming months to discover the RallyX championship.

Lauritz Heum, who already competed in the Junior CrossCar category at last year’s RallyX event in Grenland, was runner-up in the Norwegian Junior Cup 85cc category in 2020, while in the Junior CrossCar category he finished eighth overall in Norway in 2023.

Lauritz Heum is now looking forward to taking his sporting career in a new direction by entering the RallyX championship.

“This will only be my first full season in RallyX, so I’ll have to learn all the secrets of this championship,” Lauritz points out.

“I’ll have a lot to discover with the sporting format of RallyX, as I’m not used to racing against the clock, but it’s a challenge I’m looking forward to, as I know it will help me become an even faster driver.

Driving a new Casmat chassis, Lauritz sees the 2024 season as a real learning campaign.

“My first goal will be to progress throughout the season and get to grips with my new Casmat chassis. Compared to my previous car I feel much more confident and in control behind the wheel. We know that this chassis has already delivered some very good results, so it’s clear that I have a lot of room for improvement. Although I know I still have a lot to learn to get up to the level of the best drivers, I hope to qualify for the semi-finals as often as possible”.

Above all, Lauritz knows he can count on the expertise of his older brother, Alexander Heum.

“Alexander has been supporting me since I started CrossCar. I know I have potential and it’s good to have him by my side to help me express it. What’s more, he knows this Casmat chassis inside out. In other words, I’m really looking forward to the 2024 season with him. I hope that we will be able to continue our development and evolution under the colours of the Heum Motorsport team.”
