Colin Gundersen: “I want to keep progressing”

A newcomer to the RallyX championship, Norwegian Colin Gundersen hopes to use his first campaign in the Junior CrossCar class to take his development to the next level.

After four consecutive seasons in the Norwegian CrossCar Championship in the 85cc and Junior Extreme classes, Colin Gundersen will open a new chapter in his young sporting career in May 2024 by competing in the full RallyX championship.

Eighth in his national championship in 2021 and fifth last year, the 12-year-old Norwegian already has a wealth of experience in the CrossCar category.

“I made my CrossCar debut when I was six years old,” points out the driver from Hønefoss.

“I started in the Mini class before spending three seasons in the 85cc class. For the last two years I’ve been competing in the Junior category, and the reason I decided to join the RallyX championship is to continue my development as a driver and to compete against very talented rivals”.

Although Colin will be driving a Casmat chassis this year, he has been busy working on his skills since the start of the off-season.

“I have just completed a week’s preparation at a training camp in Spain with several other drivers. I’m also working on my physical condition with muscle strengthening and cardio, while I’m also practicing my driving thanks to a simulator”.

Completely unknown on the RallyX championship scene, the young Norwegian hopes to use this 2024 season to put himself on the map.

“Motorsport is a family affair, as it was my grandfather who introduced me to CrossCar. He’s always been my biggest supporter and follows my performances closely at every event.”

“I hope that this RallyX championship will give me some great experiences. My ambitions for this season are clear: to continue my development as a driver and to make new steps in my understanding of the category. In addition, I would like to reach at least one of the three podium places in the 2024 season.”
