Johan Kristoffersson confirmed for Höljes following Nysum success

  • Johan Kristoffersson to continue title charge at Höljes
  • Swedish star top of Supercar standings after Nysum win
  • World RX Champion targeting full RallyX Nordic campaign

Johan Kristoffersson will continue his RallyX Nordic presented by Cooper Tires campaign when the 2021 season resumes at Höljes, Sweden later this month (13-16 May).

The three-time FIA World Rallycross Champion was in inspired form during the double-header curtain-raiser at Nysum, Denmark last weekend – backing up a second place on Saturday with a dominant victory 24 hours later.

Kristoffersson is top of the standings in the renamed Open 4WD class – formerly the Supercar category – and will be back behind the wheel at Höljes as he targets a debut RallyX Nordic title.

The 32-year-old participated in three of the five rounds in 2020, winning twice en route to third in the championship, and the Swedish star is now looking to add more silverware to his glittering CV.

Once again driving a Volkswagen Polo GTI RX for Kristoffersson Motorsport, he is targeting a full campaign which should put him in the mix for overall honours and has confirmed his participation at Höljes.

Kristoffersson said: “It will be exciting to continue working on the development of our car, and Höljes is one of the coolest courses in the world so of course you want to be there!”

Team Manager Tommy Kristoffersson said: “We are working on getting well prepared for this competition. Höljes is always well-arranged and perfectly prepared. I also think the course suits us really well, with better grip than in Denmark and a long starting straight. We aim to stay at the top and preferably expand the lead in the points standings.”

Following on from rounds three and four at Höljes, the RallyX Nordic action moves on to another double-header at OuluZone in Finland (5-6 June) before culminating at Arvika in Sweden (13-15 August).
