OMSE continue with extensive FC2 testing in the USA

Team OMSE are set to carry out further testing in California at the prestigious Glen Helen Raceway, following rounds 6 and 7 of the Nitrocross this weekend. There will also be an exciting virtual reality opportunity for interested parties to explore the teams progress so far.

A strict initial test programme carried out in Phoenix last month, included a very successful Shake Down and first running of the platform. The next phase of the FC2 development saw further enhancement of the specification of the new powertrain unit and suspension upgrades.

“The shake down and initial testing of this new car in Phoenix could not have gone any better for us and met with all our expectations” Andreas Eriksson, CEO OMSE and FirstCorner.

“We returned to Charlotte [OMSE / First Corners headquarters in the USA] and we set to work with the continuation of the extensive development programme we’ve established. This includes continuing the work with our design partner, on establishing the final look of the FC2, which we are very close to now and are extremely pleased with. We consider that the body shape of the FC2 will become iconic.”

The shake down and initial test driving duties were entrusted to current Nitrocross Group E series leader Kevin Eriksson, who completed the designated number of laps under the watchful eyes of the team’s technical group and project partners. There were also a good number of interested parties watching; eager to understand the FC2’s capability.

Fresh from two days of competition in the teams FC1-X car, Kevin explained “I was immediately able to gain the levels of confidence with the FC2 that I needed, to be able to place the car where I wanted and get the performance required” Kevin Eriksson, current Nitrocross Group E series leader.

Eriksson demonstrated his confidence in the FC2, by completing a successful gap jump (only used by the Group E class) mid testing session.

As the team moves to California for this weekend’s Nitrocross event at Glen Helen, the FC2 will be on display over the course of the weekend at the team’s central service area location. Team OMSE invite you to come and take a look first-hand, at the progress so far and also view the new body shell profile via a VR headset that the team have developed alongside their design partner.

Interested parties are also invited to contact Kevin Morris at First Corner (the US sales division of OMSE) who will be in attendance all weekend on his mobile +44 (0) 7790 722327
