Rasmus Berggren, a new top talent in the Open 2WD category?

Third in the 2014 Swedish Junior Rallycross Championship, then Danish Supernational Champion in 2022, Rasmus Berggren could well be one of the drivers attracted by the RallyX Championship’s Open 2WD category.

Indeed, after a first appearance at Höljes alongside Bjorn Stuhre in September 2023 during the last RallyX Championship showdown, Rasmus Berggren seems more than ever attracted to a full season in 2024.

“We are already working closely with Rasmus and his father Tony Buhre, who joined us in the middle of the 2023 season,” comments Bjorn Stuhre.

“He has helped us to get the car back in shape between races, while also giving us sound advice on how to get the set-up right.”

From now on, this collaboration between Bjorn Stuhre and Rasmus Berggren could become even stronger in the coming months.

“It’s inevitable that we’re thinking about 2024. We’re considering forming a two-car team, as this would bring a number of advantages for us.”

While Bjorn Stuhre will be racing in the Pro class alongside Rasmus Berggren, the Malmo driver clearly supports the introduction of a Pro Am championship in the Open 2WD category.

“For me it’s a good thing that the RallyX championship can give a chance to drivers who don’t have the budget to go straight into the Pro class,” continues Stuhre.

“This will allow these Pro-Am drivers to be in the limelight, while giving them more opportunities for sponsorship before perhaps joining the Pro championship in the near future.”

“I’m also convinced that these Pro Am drivers will be more than competitive and capable of giving the Pro drivers a run for their money. Even if their cars are less powerful, they are much more reliable. So I hope we’ll see even more Open 2WD drivers in 2024. From my point of view, Supercar and Open 2WD are the two classes the public most wants to see in action. As for Rasmus Berggren, I know he’s a fast driver. He’s really very versatile, and I’m convinced that with a good car in his hands, he’ll be very hard to beat in the Pro class.”
