Alexander Heum: “I take nothing for granted”

One of the surprises of the 2023 season thanks to his fifth place overall in the CrossCar category, Alexander Heum has confirmed that he will be back for a second full campaign in the RallyX championship in 2024.

The 2022 Norwegian champion had managed to beat the odds and establish himself as one of RallyX’s best rookies with his two podium finishes and five qualifications for a final.

“My first season in RallyX has been incredible,” says Alexander.

“It was an extraordinary experience that will stay with me forever. Nevertheless, I don’t take for granted what I was able to achieve in 2023. Of course, qualifying five times for a final in such a tough championship is something I didn’t expect, but I’m most proud of the work my team put in so that we could fight for the top positions,” recalls the Casmat driver.

“Whether on or off the track, we had a lot of unknowns to solve, but we managed to find solutions fairly quickly. Thanks to this, I was able to perform at such a high level throughout the championship. But it’s not just the sporting results that made this 2023 season so wonderful. This RallyX championship has been a real human adventure. The travel, the support of our fans, the contribution of all those around me to make this program a reality, as well as the efforts of the promoter RallyX, have really helped to make 2023 an exceptional year for me.”

In addition to two qualifying heat wins, Alexander Heum’s consistency was outstanding. In 26 qualifying runs in 2023, the Norwegian achieved 16 top-10 finishes.

In the eight races of the 2023 season, Heum finished in the top three in the intermediate standings four times. As the third best driver in terms of pure speed behind Elias Svensson and Thomas Eek Murstad, Alexander Heum knows he will have some serious arguments to make in 2024.

“This year I’m coming back with a completely different vision of the championship than last year. I know my potential now and I know that I can fight for the top spots,” says Alexander.

“Last year I tried to find my way by understanding and analyzing my opponents, but this time I know I’ll be ready to fight from the first race of the championship. What’s more, I like the 2024 calendar and I can’t hide the fact that I’m already looking forward to the first race of the championship at Tierp in May”.
